HELP SPAY AND NEUTER

This young, abandoned puppy was found covered in mange and ringworm. He was so hungry and malnourished that he was eating rocks and soil. Marley had an ear infection that caused deafness and a head tilt. After a long treatment of several medications Marley has become a strong, healthy dog. He is very lucky to have found a caring family who give him plenty of unconditional love.

This poor girl was found at the side of the road eating garbage. She was severely malnourished and covered from head to toe with a fungal and bacterial skin infection. She had no hair except a little scruff on the back of her neck. It was obvious that she has had several litters of puppies. She was spayed, and put on a strict regiment of antibiotics and anti fungal medication. Love, medical attention, and play time at the beach quickly brought her back to good health.

After having several litters, this young dog wondered into one of our spay/neuter clinics on her own just begging to be spayed. When we opened her up we found her spleen to be so big it was about to burst. This was caused by severe tick fever (ehrlichiosis). After removing her uterus and spleen and giving her aftercare of antibiotics she has become the most grateful dog in the neighbourhood and still visits us at each clinic.

Fred's story is a unique one. It all began one day when Fred adopted a group of tourists at the beach, who were visiting from Satellite Beach, Florida. They were all enjoying a beautiful day of surf and sun when two large dogs approached and attacked him. Fred's new friends rushed him back to their hotel, doing whatever they could to stop the bleeding and keep him comfortable. Nosara Animal Care was called and we kept him under our supervision until he was fully recovered, neutered, vaccinated, and ready to be adopted. A week later we received an email from one of the families who was with Fred when he was attacked, saying that they wanted to adopt him. Fred was flown to Florida, and greeted by everyone who was with him that day at the beach as well as friends and neighbours who would now be part of his new family. He has adapted very quickly to his new environment and is a lucky boy to be safe and loved by a community of such generous, caring people.
Chewie started off as one of the many puppies born at the local mechanic shop. He had an eye infection that needed immediate attention to prevent further damage. A couple who resided in Nosara part time, was looking to adopt a dog who was small enough to travel by plane when they went back and forth to the States. They met Chewie and knew right away that this dog needed care that he most likely would not receive otherwise. That sold them and Chewie was off to his new home. After being vaccinated, dewormed and his eye treated, Chewie has become a healthy, well travelled, handsome young man.

This darling girl has had a ton of litters in her time and was extremely malnourished. She has been treated for tick fever, spayed, fed daily healthy meals, and is finally given the love she deserves. Canela has now been adopted to a very lucky lady who is looking forward to many years of fun and companionship with her new friend.

This young dog looked like an old man when he was first found. He had much more personality then he had hair, and his skin was scaly, red and inflamed. After being neutered, vaccinated, and treated for his skin issues he was able to find a happy new home. Phoenix is a puppy again, and each day brings more play time and better health.

This young boy was found in the road with a broken pelvis, mange, dehydration, and extreme malnutrition. He only passed cigarette butts and plastic food wrappers out of his system for several days once we had him in our care. Without giving up hope, we nursed him through 2 months of recovery to see if he would heal and be able to walk again. He now races the other dogs to the beach to play and swim in the ocean. He has definitely found a new zest for life.
